Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year because family usually comes! :-D This year most of the family will be together, except for the ones out of town! Some of them will be coming for New Years though! Most years, while Christmas is very fun, I always feel like it was kind of disappointing! The day comes and goes with lots of preparation and much excitement, but when all is said and done, it feels like a letdown! But this year we changed how we are going to do it!!! We have a small cabin on our property and some of us are hoping to do Christmas in the cabin! It is very full of stuff though so we shall have to move a lot of it. We also thought about cutting down a tree today and putting it up there (We have a fake one already in the house). We shall see how everything goes!
Christmas Music; I have always loved listening to Christmas music and love trying out new CD's! I like listening to music period and finding new singers that I like! But there are so many out there that are just junk! I was in a store the other day and they were playing some of my favorite songs, but I hardly recognized them!!! They where rock singers and sounded awful! How to ruin good Christmas music, I tell ya!! But I have also heard some very good Christmas music while shopping! Some Soldiers came to one of the malls and were playing Christian Christmas music! It sounded beautiful! It was nice to listen to something like that, while shopping, for a change!
John McDermott is always a favorite for me and we got a Christmas CD by him for Christmas this year! Bing Crosby is also pretty good and we listen to him as well!
Merry Christmas!!!!

A Music Story
Many, many years ago my brother was buying a guitar, in the excitement I felt certain that I wanted one too and asked Dad and Mom if I could get one as well! They said yes and soon I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of my brand new child’s guitar and when it arrived I had the time of my life playing it.......for awhile! It wasn't long before I realized it was only a passing fancy, while I would enjoy playing it I didn't know how and the instruction book we ordered didn't come! By this time though I didn't really pursue getting another one, I had enjoyed it for awhile and that was it. Also, the guitar was VERY BADLY out of tune and sense no one in our family knew how to play any musical instruments I just let it go!
I was sadly very content to just forget about my guitar and not take any pride in owning one, after all, I thought, I had always REALLY wanted to know how to play piano so as soon as I got one I was sure I would play that faithfully! Frankly, it wouldn't have happened! It wasn't until a few months ago that I really remembered my guitar and decided to try an' learn to play it, but by this time I was way too big for it and I thought of purchasing a new one! However circumstances where such that it wasn't possible at the moment, but one of my brothers (A different one than afore mentioned) had learned to play the guitar and he bought a book for one of my brothers and I to learn with! (He had purchased one many years ago for a Christmas present for us once, but looking at it now he said that he didn't like it and got another one) I really wanted to please my brother so I decided that I would learn how to play no matter what size my guitar was. I started to learn again and this time I started to really understand how everything worked and was amazed at how fast I was able to catch on to the whole thing, I had always thought it would be much harder! My brother is letting me use his guitar (It's much bigger) and I'm taking great delight in learning new things about playing it, even though it can be frustrating at times!
Once I am completely done learning guitar I have a few more instruments I would like to learn! Piano, Violin, Banjo and possibly Harp (Not necessarily in that order), for now I'm planning on sticking to non-month pieces so that I can sing and play at the same time sense I really like singing! For now though I'm just playing guitar and maybe in a few years I'll have concurred a couple more instruments!
